Investigation on developing of Beach sp. seedling Root Case stady: Mashlak Forest, Nowshahr

Abstract


Forest ecosystems are dynamic and complex as part of the natural resources that are the natural factors involved in existence and it is life. The seedling growth rate of the plants that grow from the seeds of trees very important effect on soil mass stability control on slips after utilization trees in different weather conditions. Roots stabilize soil on slope. This  study has determined the speed of root, shoot and root biomass rate of Eastern Beech (Fagus Orientalis ) as one of the most important forest species in North of the Iran forests. The one to five years seedlings were sampled randomly. The results showed that the average depth of root penetration was 5.9 cm in the first year and 22.5 cm in the fifth year. Average root radius was 75.3 cm in the first year and 20 cm in the fifth year.
